I don't think many of you might drop by this blog nowadays, assuming I'm able to safely judge the viewership volume based on the tagboard responses. Yet, seeing this blog's creation firms up my belief that AWC is a small and bonded family. This even after I've left it for quite a while.

For those of you who still know me, yes, I'm here: alive and breathing in the Singapore Armed Forces. So people who owe me meals after betting if I can survive in army; you better own up now and treat me to good food! Alas, to those juniors who are reading this post and wondering who this writer is, I'm your AWC alumnus who's dropping by after these months to say hello! :)

Actually, I'm writing these post with the intention to congratulate all you shooters who have done our school proud, be it if you've won a medal or not. Everyone is a winner in his/her ways. I know that Nationals are way over and that celebrations are probably done with by now, but it never fails to make me proud whenever you guys train hard for your respective competitions and show our fellow shooters from other institutions how capable we are. I do recall fondly my last year as a representative shooter of DHSAWC and typing that farewell speech. As I was reading it moments ago, I doubt some things ever change. Before I sign off, I just wish to advise each and everyone of you to continue pursuing your own passions, whatever it may be. Not many of us have the endurance to spend long hours training every week with our rifle/pistol. Not many of us will have the patience to perfect our air weapon skills. I believe that after coming so far, we all have, in each of us a certain degree of passion for air weapons and the joys that come with shooting. After all these years, I've never regretted joining AWC and being the first Senior High Pistol shooter to set out a path for people to tread on. If any of you have regrets at some point in your air weapons career, never let it wear you down! Instead, I do hope that they will be translated into energy to spur you on in shooting to greater heights in future.

Most importantly, not everyone out there has the privilege like us to be part of the DHSAWC Family. Do treasure every moment of it :)

The school has issued an order that all CCAs to stop training with immediate effect until further notice in view of the H1N1 situation.

As such, DO NOT go down to the range to train until further notice.

All previous emails sent to you regarding training in the last week of June are to be ignored. I have informed the Coach Lim Chea Rong regarding the school order.

Timetable for next week training is as follows:

Tues 16 June - 1430 to 1830

Wed 17 June - 1430 to 1830

Fri 19 June - 1430 to 1830

June holiday training is not compulsory or official. No teachers will be there in attendance.

Year ones can join in to train if they wish to.

PS: There are extra lanes on Thursday if any students are interested.

10th june - 2.30pm to 6.30pm ]
11th june - 5.30pm to 8.30pm ] Lanes have been booked and
12th june - 2.30pm to 6.30pm ] coach will be there to conduct training

As Mr Yap has mentioned, training is NOT COMPULSORY and NOT OFFICIAL. NO teacher will be at the range.

Year 1 - Your Workshop will continue in Term 3. You may however, join in the training at the above dates.

Fw: AWC : Updated Gun List / Appointment of new Chairman for SH section of AWC

Dear Shooters,

New Chairman of SH section : Xiao Xuan has been appointed as the new Chairman of the SH section of the AWC.

Outgoing SH committee: Many many thanks to all the members of the SH committee for your dedication and leadership the past 2 years. Special thanks to Kenneth Choo (Executive Chairman) and Tan Jun Ya (Chairman SH section) for your invaluable services to the Club. Both of you have been pillars of the DHS AWC. Wishing the outgoing SH committee and all Yr 6 shooters all the best for your 'A' level examinations.

Updated gun list : The most updated gun list (attached) is for your reference. Do memorise your gun's serial numbers. Some of you were not too pleased with the original allocation of gun. There was some miscommunication and misunderstanding when the initial allocation was made. The updated list has taken into consideration the ability and committment of each shooter. You may use the newly allocated gun with immediate effect.

Will update all of you on the June holiday training (if any).

At the moment, Coach Chea Rong and I are working out a schedule for training in June. However, the training is NOT COMPULSORY OR OFFICIAL. There will be NO TEACHER in attendance.

Hi everyone!

Please ignore the previous email. I made slight changes to the attached document in the previous email.

I have attached the latest copy of role allocation for the open house on 30th May. There are several changes. Please take note of your role, and reporting time.

We will have a meeting this thursday to prepare for open house. Meet outside the school range at 2.30pm. There will also be a mock run for the clinic on thursday, so as to prepare for the open house. Everyone is expected to come down on thursday to help out with the preparation of the booth and clinic. We appreciate your cooperation. Thanks!

PS: There will not be training this Friday because of open house preparations.
